Praise the Lord! I am happy to report that the kids are all doing well, and that they didn't see any major damage from the hurricane. They did have a lot of rain and some strong wind, but God protected them. Thanks for all your fervent prayers for their safety. There was some slight damage to the "youth shack," but they said it could be easily fixed with a few more sticks and some palm leaves. Keep up the prayers for our wonderful kids!
God bless you all,

Hurricane Gustav Bearing Down on Haiti

Let's please remember to keep the kids at the orphanage in our prayers especially today and tonight. Hurricane Gustav is expected to hit Haiti sometime this evening. It is not very powerful yet, but any amount of rain and wind could be devastating to this poor country. I spoke with the kids at the orphanage this morning and they said that they are seeing some wind now, but the rain has not started yet. Let's pray that the wind does not damage their "youth shack," and that there isn't much flooding. If you look at the map I attached, Haiti is in the lower right of the picture. Our orphanage is located in Aquin, Haiti, right in the middle of the southwest tip that sticks out. This is right in the projected path of the hurricane. I'll post an update as soon as I have more news.
God bless you,
Steve Horne

July Update
Hello again everyone. I want to say thank you for all of your prayers and support. With everyone's help, we were able to once again meet the budget for the orphanage last month. Sometimes it gets a little crazy, but God always provides. I think He is just teaching us to rely on Him more, and that we cannot do anything without Him.
We just had another missions team come to Haiti last week. It was awesome to see God at work in the community. We trained our kids on puppets and dramas and took their "youth shack" out into the community. We drew a crowd of around 200 on Friday night on a grassy hill in the middle of the community. It was a very difficult crowd to say the least. When we did puppets for the community kids, they tried to rush the stage. It was like working security at a rock concert! In spite of the unruly crowd, Belony preached the Gospel with passion, and after he finished, we gave an ivitation to accept Christ. Several people gave their lives to Christ that night. They will now be welcomed into the youth shack each Wednesday night where they can learn about Jesus.
We are also pleased to announce that one of our older boys from the orphanage, Fito, has returned with us to the States for about three months. He is very gifted in singing and speaking and we will be traveling together to different churches and schools to share the ministry in Haiti. Our schedule is filling up fast, but if you would like to schedule for us to come, please email me at steve@project127.org. We would love to come share with you.
Thanks again for having a part in God's work in Haiti! We couldn't do it without you!
Building Eternity,
Steve Horne
